Meet the Speaker

Davina B Woods, CEO of Mara Nyabil. Her life has been described as inspiring with a rich legacy. Born and raised in Brisbane, Davina is of Kuku-Djungan heritage and has dedicated her life to education and writing. She was one of the inagural members of the Queensland Department of Education’s  Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Education Unit in 1984.

Helen Gates holds a post-graduate degree in Interior Design, where they honed her design skills and gained a deep understanding of the principles of architecture, art, and interior aesthetics. Her academic journey not only provided them with a strong foundation but also instilled a commitment to continuous learning and staying abreast of the latest trends and technologies in the interior design industry.
